009 Agency does Generative Engine Optimization for brands selling in the United Arab Emirates: we make them visible, cited and chosen inside AI answers across ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Grok and DeepSeek — and we re-measure it every two weeks against a logged baseline. The UAE is the market where our audits found the widest gap between search and the engines: a whole visualisation category worth twenty-seven organic visits a month across every studio, and ChatGPT naming ten Dubai studios anyway.

This page is the Gulf read on the same question we ask everywhere: what do buyers search, whom do the engines name, and what decides it. The numbers are Google Ads volumes for the UAE from August 2026 and a live shelf test run on 5 September 2026. For real estate specifically, the Dubai real-estate page goes deeper.

Read together: nobody in the UAE searches for a GEO agency, and eight thousand people a month search for an SEO agency in Dubai. A Gulf page that says “GEO agency Dubai” addresses ten people; one that says “SEO agency Dubai” and explains AI visibility addresses the market. The AI category here is entirely inside the engines, which is the second table.

what the Dubai shelf looked like on 5 september 2026

We asked ChatGPT (gpt-5.5, web search on) and Perplexity (sonar-pro) which agencies in Dubai or the UAE do GEO and AI search visibility for brands. Logged verbatim.

Three things decide the Dubai shelf.

A Scottish agency’s city guide decides ChatGPT’s Dubai answer. Ten of the sources were one site: a GEO agency registered in Scotland that benchmarks “31 cities against the firms AI engines cite”. It has no measurable organic traffic in the UAE. It is the single most influential document on the Dubai shelf, and no Dubai agency wrote it. The same mechanism, one self-published list becoming the engine’s source, is what we found for the Gulf in August when every engine cited one Dubai agency’s own listicle.

Perplexity reads a directory and the incumbents. Digital Gravity (founded 2014, Dubai Police and DP World among clients) and Global Media Insight (founded 2001, 120 staff) lead Perplexity’s list because their GEO pages exist and a directory lists them. Neither names a measurement cadence; one names three engines, the other none. The bar for the Gulf shelf is a GEO page and a directory entry.

Prices are published in dirhams. SEO Tech Experts in Business Bay states AED 2,999 a month on its page. That is rarer than it sounds: in the US ten-agency list, one publishes a price. A Gulf buyer who asks for a number and does not get one is talking to an agency that chose not to say.

where 009 stands in the UAE, honestly

Our UAE organic footprint is zero and we are on neither shelf above. What we have is the deepest Gulf audit bench on this site: eight companies measured in the UAE market — brokerages, a logistics importer, a detailing business, three visualisation studios with Dubai offices or Dubai clients — and the finding that repeats in all of them: the category is empty in search and already populated in the engines, from sources nobody in Dubai controls. That is what the real-estate page is built on.

what the first 90 days look like

The order is the same as everywhere, because it has to be: readable, then verifiable, then quotable. What changes per market is the language of the prompts, the directories the engines read, and who publishes the lists.

  1. Audit. The prompts your buyers actually ask, in the language they ask them, run live through the engines and logged verbatim, plus crawler checks with real AI user-agents. You get a health score, the shelf in this market today, and the three most expensive gaps. Complimentary. what is inside →
  2. Make the entity local and machine-readable. One organisation record with the local registration, address and languages; the local directories and review platforms the engines cited above resolving to you. Shipped as files your developer applies. technical GEO →
  3. Publish what gets quoted, in the right language. English first, because that is what the engines searched in; Arabic where your buyers ask in Arabic, which the audit tests. Prices in dirhams, the licence and free-zone entity a Gulf buyer expects, and pages for the questions the engines answer with lists.
  4. Get onto the lists that decide this market. For the UAE today: the city guide ChatGPT read, the directory Perplexity read, the one Dubai agency list every engine cited in August, Clutch UAE and the Gulf trade titles — identified from your own panel, not from a generic outreach list.
  5. Re-measure. Same panel, same language, every review, reported as a delta. Series, not screenshots.

proof, and its limits

No UAE client is on retainer, so there is no Gulf program result on this page. The measured result we can point to is from an EU legal client that went from 0/5 to 4/5 engines naming it on its category prompt by day 17 (July 2026), with the log published. The Gulf-specific evidence is the eight UAE audits and the tables above.

one thing we will not do

We will not sell you a Dubai listicle as authority. The Dubai shelf today is one Scottish guide and one Gulf directory; the engines will read whatever replaces them. A brand with a real UAE entity, a licence a crawler can verify and a page per buyer question survives the replacement; a placement bought in the current list does not.
