Generative Engine Optimization is the same discipline in every industry — readable, then verifiable, then quotable. What changes per industry is which of the three is the bottleneck, which sources the engines cite, and what a buyer asks before they ask anything else.

That is the only reason vertical experience is worth paying for: not a different method, but a known starting map. Below is where our dataset is actually deep, with the counts.

what changes per industry, in practice

Regulated categories — iGaming, crypto exchanges, legal, financial services. The bottleneck is trust, and trust is usually machine-unreadable: licences as images, no organisation record, no named humans. Engines fill the gap with review aggregators and complaint threads, then volunteer warnings to the buyer.

Technical categories — dev shops, infrastructure, SaaS, cloud. The bottleneck is readability: app-like frontends that return a shell to crawlers, and documentation that is more citable than the marketing site, so the engine quotes your docs and recommends a competitor.

Service categories — agencies, consulting, B2B services, legal. The bottleneck is citability: the category answer is assembled from roundups and directories, and being absent from four lists costs more than any on-page fix.

Visual categories — ArchViz, GameArt, real estate. The bottleneck is that the work is images and the model reads text. Portfolios full of proof that no engine can parse.

the full list

Eight niche groups: web3 & crypto (incl. prediction markets), iGaming, B2B services (development agencies, consulting, legal, accounting and tax, recruiting, marketing agencies, corporate services), fintech & payments, AI / AI tools, B2B SaaS, e-commerce & DTC, and real estate & construction.

Ten have a dedicated page, listed in the second table with the bench behind each. Five of those carry a matching ranked list of agencies in that vertical, scored on the same six criteria as the main list. The rest are covered by the same loop described in GEO services, and the findings that repeat across all of them are published in 100 GEO audits: the report.

The same three questions asked per country — what buyers search, whom the engines name, who writes the list — are on GEO by market for the UK, Germany, the UAE, Poland and Ukraine.

If your niche is not in the list, that is usually good news rather than bad: it means the category answer has not been cemented yet and is still cheap to take. The audit will say whether that is true for you specifically.
